Jennifer Dobrenski
Registered Psychotherapist Qualifying
Savouring that first sip of dark roast coffee in the quietness of the early morning is something I treasure each day. That quiet time is sacred to me as it allows me to settle myself before I launch into the day. In my personal time, I love to sing, watch sports and be around family and friends. Getting outside and going for walks each day provides me with perspective and a much needed dose of fresh air! At the heart of me is a person who thrives when around children and teens, as I find their energy, honesty and openness refreshing and exhilarating.
Who do I see? Children (5+), teens and families.
What concerns do I work with? Anxiety, emotional regulation, identity, relational skills within friendships and family, multicultural family experiences, and more.

My Approach
A warm welcome! My name is Jen and I am a psychotherapist (qualifying) with a Masters of Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I have been a passionate educator for over 20 years, working alongside diverse students and their families in a range of locations and populations, including international schools in the UK and in Europe.
My heart is in supporting children (ages 5-12) and adolescents (ages 13-18), alongside their families, in a safe, non-judgemental space, offering warmth, empathy and a belief in resiliency and autonomy. I offer a collaborative and strengths-based approach, understanding the unique and capable qualities of each client. Creating a strong, therapeutic connection with my clients is of utmost priority for me as it is the foundation for making positive change.
My areas of interests and experience are in working with children/youth and their families from varied multi-cultural backgrounds, with issues such as anxiety, emotional regulation, identity and relational skills within friendships and family.
Using evidence-based modalities, such as Play-based Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Polyvagal Therapy are a sample of what may be utilised, depending on the individual needs of each client.
I look forward to meeting with you and working together for meaningful and positive change.
